We harbor a romantic sentimentality for business deals reached with just the most basic elements sketched onto a napkin and consummated with a handshake. While this is not a bad starting point, it should by no means be your end. While although both parties may believe that they are in complete agreement of the terms, misunderstanding, miscommunications and foggy memories are almost unavoidable. What then?
Capturing your agreement in writing not only will help you work through the specifics of your arrangement, it will clarify expectations, and provide the legal documentation necessary if a problem does occur. This South Dakota General Agreement kit is designed as a springboard to help you draft an agreement that captures both the spirit and realities of the arrangement you are documenting. The enclosed document contains the essential contract basics, providing a standard form agreement, which can easily be tailored to fit the needs of your specific situation. This form can be used in South Dakota. |
